Maine’s affordable cost of living, welcoming communities and large need for teachers and mental health professionals make for a strong job market. Thanks to a generous grant from The Lunder Foundation, graduate and undergraduate students can receive major support in their educational journey, opening meaningful pathways to rewarding employment in these high-demand fields.

Scholarships & Aid

The Maine Scholars program is for all Maine residents or those who want to work in Maine. Generous scholarships are available and can considerably reduce your personal contribution. The grant also provides free on-campus housing for undergraduate students!

Eligible Programs

All those pursuing a Master’s degree in education or mental health are eligible for support through the Maine Scholars program. All on-campus undergraduate programs are eligible.

Guaranteed Internships & Priority Jobs

Maine Scholars are guaranteed internships or field placements at an organization through the Scholar Partner Program. No longer will you have to spend time on extensive research and compete for internships. And upon graduation, Maine Scholars receive priority job consideration from their internships or placement organization, providing a smooth transition into the workforce so you can immediately start making a difference in beautiful Maine.

Lifelong Support

A built-in cohort of peers builds a strong sense of community as you all work toward employment in Maine. Hands-on support from faculty and fellow students makes your educational journey a richer, more fulfilling experience. And you’ll cultivate a network that you can rely on throughout your education or mental health career. You’ll also have access to exclusive career fairs and personal/professional development events.
